Happy Monday everyone! It was a busy day Sunday at Food Cart Fest, we call it the punisher….it’s a very hard long day, the busiest of the week. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, including Kid Carson from Sonic FM. It’s Meatloaf Monday today, get your self down here for lunch, it will be a nice warm up on what looks to be a chilly Monday.
The Vancouver Food Cart Fest is back baby!! However this year it’s changed location, to 215 West 1st Avenue which is located south east of the Cambie Street Bridge, which opened in 1985 but was originally named the Connaught Bridge in 1912.Bet you didn’t know that! Mix in all of Vancouver’s favorite street food carts, markets, live music, kids stuff, DJs, and more cool stuff and you’ve got what Mom’s niece and nephew would say is “way more better”. The Food Cart Fest runs every Sunday from 12 to 5 PM until September 22, which is a big birthday in Mom’s family. Hey, it’s one of the cheapest things you can do in Vancouver too, only $2 admission, kids 13 and under are gratis. See you this Sunday!
Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck was set up this past Sunday at The Waldorf for the Yelp and Street Food Vancouver Food Cart Fest. We seemed to have a line up of about 50 people deep all day long and we even ran out of bacon!! Sacrilegious! Blasphemy! I guess that’s a good thing, it means the grilled cheese was selling like hotcakes.
If you didn’t know, Food Cart Fest happens every Sunday till September 2 and it’s free and family-friendly. From week to week, the Food Cart Fest will be complimented by a series of community markets. These weekly events also featured a 19+ beer garden in The Waldorf outdoor tiki beach area, live musical performances, DJs, and other family entertainment. It’s a great Vancouver community event, check it out!
